Welcome to the dAclub for Technical Drawing.
Also known as "drafting" it is the art and practice of creating accurate representations of objects for technical needs such as, map making (cartography), buildings (architecture), machinery (engineering) and scientific illustrations (biology)
A person who draws technical drawings is known as a draftsman.
Paper or vellum (plasticised cotton) was the canvas material of choice, and they had to use precise instruments and tools to perform their craft such as set squares, compasses, straight edge, t-squares, and a technical pen (rapidograph).
These days most technical drawing is done using Computer Aided Desin (CAD) programs from everything from automotive to interior design.
This dAclub has been setup for all draftsmen to display their works, and share their skills and experiences through DA.
